Rental Policy and Rates

Our Rental Policy

Our cottage is available to small families or a small number of mature couples or adult individuals (min. 25 years old). The maximum overnight capacity permitted is 6 persons. Potential guests will be requested to complete a short application/ lease form. We expect guests to care for our country home as if it were their own and to follow the cottage guidelines provided. In particular, we request that the cottage be left in the condition found by the guests by using the departure checklist provided. Guests will be requested to provide a damage/ cleaning deposit. Due to health problems in the family, pets and smoking are not permitted in the cottage.

The cottage will normally be available on a one or two-week basis during all four seasons and the rental fee will vary accordingly. Rentals begin on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. and end on Saturday at noon.

Rates, Deposits and Payment

Rates are provided in the table below (in Canadian funds).

In addition, a refundable damage/cleaning deposit of $300 will be charged. This deposit will be refunded within one to two weeks if no repair, replacement or cleaning is required (other than normal wear and tear). Cleaning will be charged at $20 per hour.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total amount is due upon booking, payable by cheque or cash. Final payment, including refundable damage/security deposit, is also required at time of booking by post-dated cheque dated 3 weeks before arrival. If cottage is booked less than 3 weeks before time of arrival, the entire amount is immediately payable in cash or certified cheque.
 

NOTES:
   1) A 10% discount is available to previous renters
   2) Weekend rentals are not available due to the need to provide full week rentals.

Supplies and Bedding

Linen (such as sheets and pillowcases) and bath towels are not normally included.  However, pillows, bed covers and blankets are provided.  The provision of linens can be negotiated for those traveling by air or long distances subject to laundering and folding before leaving the cottage.

Beds on the first floor include a single bed in one bedroom and a queen size bed in the master bedroom. The three bedrooms on the second floor include one double bed in two of the bedrooms and two singles in the third.

Guests are expected to provide their own food. However, existing staples and supplies found at the cottage may be used subject to their replacement when running low.  A list of these supplies is provided along with directions to the cottage and other information.

Winter Access

The cottage is available during all four seasons and the cottage access roads are ploughed during the winter to the front door.  However, due to the grades of these roads, a 4-wheel drive vehicle with snow tires is highly recommended.
